Studio Art

Our visual art programs emphasize vertically aligned courses that build upon skills and concepts from one level to the next in order to instill awareness and appreciation of the arts as well as to prepare those who have the interest and motivation for advanced classes in high school and beyond. Students are encouraged to broaden their skills and perspectives, to identify and develop their own artistic styles and directions, and to challenge themselves to maximize their potential.  Opportunities for competition and critique are available both in school and in public venues.  Field trips and festival attendance provide arenas for our students to learn about art in their world.  Our art teachers are artists in their own right.  Their passion and focus on the importance of art in all peoples’ lives both motivates and exhilarates young learners.
